The year is 2041, and sixteen-year-old Molly McClure has lived a relatively quiet life on an isolated farming island in Canada, but when her family fears the worst may have happened to her grandparents in the US, Molly must brave the dangerous, chaotic world left after global economic collapse—one of massive oil shortages, rampant crime, and abandoned cities.

Molly is relieved to find her grandparents alive in their Portland suburb, but they’re financially ruined and practically starving. What should’ve been a quick trip turns into a full-fledged rescue mission. And when Molly witnesses something the local crime bosses wishes she hadn’t, Molly’s only way home may be to beat them at their own game. Luckily, there’s a handsome stranger who’s willing to help.
Restoring Harmony is the complete essence of YA dystopian. Even though set at a completely different time, Anthony seems to capture the reality as well as the fantasy aspect. It encompasses readers' expectations and dives into a realm of convincing possibilities. Anthony's debut has exceeded all of my expectations and has introduced me to a new genre of books. I've never payed much attention to dystopian literature, but Restoring Harmony has truly opened my eyes.

Restoring Harmony features a bland and seemingly desolate word but it is overcome by Molly, the selfless, young girl who gives a sense of hope and meaning to the novel. Anthony molds different, meaningful themes such as love, hope, and sacrifice. All of which emanate a positive message in the facade of a seemingly unbreakable isolated exterior.

Anthony has crafted a beautiful story with the journey of Molly, her friendship with Spill, and the love she has for her family. In a dystopian world, Anthony truly creates a contrast with the dreary background, and the strong, powerful message she revives in Restoring Harmony.

Great review! I just posted my review of this title today as well.

This was my first dystopian fiction, but I think I'll be reading more soon.

I was able to read this one through and ARC tour program and I really enjoyed it. I felt very similar to you about the book and I'm happy with the outcome of the novel. It may be a dystopian novel, but I felt like it was a much softer? one than most. It's not so in-your-face as other dystopian books, but it still works.
