Nothing much happens in the sleepy town of Venus Cove. But everything changes when three angels are sent from heaven to protect the town against the gathering forces of darkness: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. They work hard to conceal their true identity and, most of all, their wings.

But the mission is threatened when the youngest angel, Bethany, is sent to high school and falls in love with the handsome school captain, Xavier Woods. Will she defy the laws of Heaven by loving him? Things come to a head when the angels realize they are not the only supernatural power in Venus Cove. There′s a new kid in town and he′s charming, seductive and deadly. Worst of all, he′s after Beth.
Halo is a romantically-woven story about angels and humans together. Heavily filled with angelic history, Halo has a rich tone and the concept of angels and 'dark forces' is really emphasized here. I especially liked the emotional involvement that I experienced while reading Halo.

The premise and cover were the ones that really captured my attention. The beautiful cover enhances the concept of human and angel, as well as love. Adornetto's writing had a strong voice and it had flawlessly established undertone of love and hope. The plot not only consisted of romance, but also action and Adornetto ingrained vital debatable issues such as the idea of angels and demons and is there even a heaven? Is there a hell?

Bethany was a refreshing character that I could relate to. Her voice was so genuine and strong. I was really able to see her grow from naive to more human. Will was also a great love interest; although he was sort of predictable, psychologically, he defies the stereotypes. Ivy was a great sister to Bethany; she was supportive and always had Bethany's back. I loved Gabriel! His character was really well-developed from the start and you could really tell that he was a good brother figure to Bethany even if he didn't show it!

Adornetto creates an exciting and refreshing book on angels and romance put together. Halo is a great start to this series. Can't wait to read more of Adornetto's future novels!

Great review! What I liked most about Halo is that it wasn't overly preachy. The main idea is that there is good in the world and that people should help others. I can't wait for the sequel!

Ivy was a great character!
I agree with DJ, I liked how it wasn't preachy but explored religious concepts.

I've been thinking of buying this book because I love the cover. Though I'm not sure if the writing is good too. I've heard it's written by a teenager.
